Winter Solstice 2012 in Sagittarius

This year started with much expectation, sped by with exuberance and now we find ourselves hurtling towards a time in which none of us can presume to know what lies ahead. We are in an energetic interval – a period in which the earth, our solar system, and ourselves, are harmonizing with our deepest spiritual potential and Universal Law. This winter brings with it much more than an icy chill – the Winter Solstice this year falls on December 21st 2012 – a date etched into our minds by bad movies and elaborate (though misconstrued) gossip. Accumulating under the sign of the archer Sagittarius, the December Solstice is when the sun reaches its most southerly declination at -23.5 degrees. It introduces the longest night of the year, after which we can expect (in the Northern Hemisphere) for the days to grow longer once again and our semblance of balance to return.

The 9th House of Sagittarius brings with it a heightened awareness for companionship and humanity. We are more open to intellectual and out-of-the-box ideas, the power of positive thinking and a renewed sense of societal responsibility. It is the time for us to come together with those who share the same positive goals and values and create something to help make the our home here on earth a better place. Though Sagittarius is a sign of prosperity and success, it does not mean we should create further divisions between the haves and the have nots. Regardless of material possessions we can connect through our hearts and usher in a new foundation of love and peace.

In these frigid & gloomy days to come, rejuvenate your senses with citrus bursts of Bergamot and Melissa. Keep your sweet temperament with the aromas of Hyssop and Rosemary Verbenone. Warm up with toasty Calendula and spicy Clove Bud, and celebrate the upcoming holiday season with the nutty scent of Nutmeg.

Autumn’s Return & The Oils of Libra

With our ever increasing need to be wrapped tighter in sweaters and to turn on more lights to read by, we can be sure that autumn has officially arrived. These first months of fall find the sun once again dipping south of the equator and the warmth of summer becomes but a distant memory. In this 7th House of Libra, the balanced scales, we sit poised between growth and retraction, between the light of days growing progressively shorter and the dark of the impending winter to come.

Importance is bestowed on relationships during this time as this is the season for socializing, cooperation and partnerships. As the days become more reminiscent of winter it is sensible to seek out like minded people who can support you and help you to retain a sense of order in the frosty days ahead. Libra is the sharing of the fruits of our labor, the interactions and bonds formed to sustain our objectivity and sense of order. The Cardinal Air Sign of the scales brings the balancing of ideas, expression through fine art and a desire to unleash our creative aspects this season. Don’t let the need to judge and weigh circumstances under Libra hinder your connection to others and the planet, more so than ever we must find a common bond as our tumultuous year speeds to its end.

Instead of mourning the loss of summers days let us celebrate the return of blustery contemplative nights and the rejuvenation of wit. Let the aromas of earthy Patchouli & herbaceous Chamomile strengthen your connection to our Mother Earth. The Sweet fragrances of Eucalyptus and Sweet Fennel coupled with the floral aroma of Geranium stimulate memories of blustery seasons past. Engulf yourself in the hot scent of Peppermint and the herbal warmth of Spearmint to help support you in the days to come. For this is surely the time of discovering the sustenance necessary to move forward within this time of transition in Love and Light.

Oils of Virgo & the Autumn Equinox

Together we have witnessed the transformation of our year and now we find ourselves traveling through these last sweltering days of summer accompanied by the blustery cool breath of autumns return. Within this Mercury ruled month of Virgo, (the 6th House – the house of work, service and health) we begin to shift from the long, warm, lazy days of summer to the shorter, more structured days of the upcoming Fall. Responsibilities shunted to the side during the summer months, return with full vigor along with a renewed sense of priority and selective discrimination. Virgo rules the liver, solar plexus and intestines which are where our body separates that which is needed from that which is not. Mirrored in our own actions, the month of Virgo allows us to choose where we would like to direct our energy flow and how we can trim off the excess baggage of life.

It is a time of great energy changes, both within us and for the Earth as a whole. The Autumn Equinox is upon us – an annual process of planetary movement where because of the Earth’s motion & tilt the sun crosses over the Earth’s equator on its way South. Signifying in the Northern Hemisphere the end of the long days of summer and the beginning of the shorter, cooler and darker days of Fall (reversed in the Southern Hemisphere).

The Autumn Equinox is a time for deepening dedication, for renewal of soul aspiration and a time to tune in to the inner processes of nature. A harmony should grow during this time between Nature and the inner self – a chance to conform one’s inner life to the special character of the season. The four principal steps in human life are reflected in the four great planetary cycles of Nature. Autumn represents a time of Maturity – the mature woman within the fulfillment of her life.

During these transitioning days, sensitivities to your surroundings are common and expected. Best to alleviate the ailments of the season with the mildly intoxicating herbaceous aroma of Clary Sage, earthy Oakmoss, smoky Vetivert, warm and spicy Basil, woody Cedar & the intensely exotic, floral scent of Honeysuckle. The ever quickening pace of these tumultuous times encourages us all to come together as One in Peace, Love and Support.

Sustainable Certified Organic Australian Sandalwood

As summer’s heat streams us forward into cooler months, we continue to observe, sadly, the dwindling of the East Indian Sandalwood trees. The efforts of conservationists to save this precious tree, coupled with the increasingly synthetic cut versions of Sandalwood on the market today have encouraged us to source an alternative Sandalwood which will still provide the same therapeutic benefits and amazing aroma without depleting this endangered sacred tree.

Organic Infusions is pleased to introduce to you Certified Organic Australian Sandalwood (though we do have a small amount of the East Indian Sandalwood remaining for sacred ritual use). Although it is easy to find conventional Australian Sandalwood, Organic Infusions, Inc is one of the only companies in the USA to provide Certified Organic Sandalwood from Australia.

Oils of Aries

“There are moments in time when the clouds of fear, doubt, and insecurity unleash a storm of wind and rain, intended to tear and rip away the death of winter. As the deep and secure roots of God’s grounding trust stabilizes this process, we are free to drink in the elixir of transformation and prepare for the Birth of Spring.

In Faith, our body moves in rhythm to the wind, letting our branches fly free; we weep and shake – every inch of our Being preparing for purification’s cleanse. As we release the leaves of death that were our old belief systems that blocked us, our bare branches are filled with Pure Potential for New Growth in Life.

The storm subsides, revealing a rainbow of Hope. Our branches are being warmed now – filled with the Light of God’s Love. We are now ready and prepared to burst open the Bud of Pure Potential; the Truth of Who We are simply Surrenders into Blossom without effort or thought – The Blossom of Who We Are is the Fragrance of God permeating the world with Love’s Aroma through us.”

Love and Light to You All
